Aston Villa vs. Everton predictions

Aston Villa and Everton were both beaten without scoring on the opening weekend of the season, which has ramped up the pressure ahead of their meeting at Villa Park.

Villa have an impressive recent record against Everton, as they are unbeaten in the six meetings between the two sides since they were promoted back to the Premier League in 2019.

Everton also held one of the worst away records in the Premier League last season, as no team picked up fewer away points in the division than the Toffees.

Southampton vs. Leeds United predictions

Southampton were comprehensively beaten 4-1 at Tottenham on the opening weekend of the season, while Leeds were narrow winners over Wolves.

The pressure is mounting on the Saints as they have lost five league matches in a row - a run that stretches back to last season - although they did take four points off Leeds from their two meetings during 2021-22.

Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Newcastle United predictions

Both Brighton and Newcastle recorded impressive victories on the opening weekend. The Seagulls gained their first ever away win at Manchester United, while the Magpies outclassed Nottingham Forest on home soil.

Graham Potter's Brighton have only lost once in 10 matches against Newcastle since the two teams were promoted together in 2017 - the problem is that their sole defeat came when they last met back in March.

Manchester City vs. Bournemouth predictions

Manchester City's title defence began with a 2-0 victory at West Ham thanks to a brace from new signing Erling Haaland, while Bournemouth were winners by the same scoreline against Aston Villa.

The Citizens have never lost to Bournemouth and have won all 10 of their previous Premier League meetings.

It certainly appears an ominous fixture for the Cherries, who did at least win their last away fixture in the division, beating Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park in July 2020.

Arsenal vs. Leicester City predictions

There is plenty of optimism surrounding Arsenal at the start of the season and the Gunners opened up with a 2-0 victory at Crystal Palace, while Leicester squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Brentford.

While Arsenal appear to be moving in the right direction, there is concern for the Foxes, who are yet to make a new signing this summer and have seen several of their key players linked with moves elsewhere.

Leicester also have a poor recent record against the Gunners, as they have lost the last three meetings between the two sides by a two-goal margin.

Wolves vs. Fulham predictions

Wolves were beaten by Leeds on the opening weekend and have now taken just two points from their last eight league matches.

Newly promoted Fulham have no such concerns after drawing with expected title challengers Liverpool on Saturday, although it is Wolves that have won the last three meetings between these two sides without even conceding a goal.

Brentford vs. Manchester United predictions

The return of Christian Eriksen to Brentford will dominate the headlines heading into this match, although the now-Manchester United player could not stop his new side from losing 2-1 at home to Brighton on the opening weekend.

That was certainly not the start new United manager Erik ten Hag was looking for, but the Red Devils did manage to comprehensively beat Brentford both at home and away last season.

The Bees came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Leicester on the opening weekend, but they have not beaten United in any competition since February 1938.

Nottingham Forest vs. West Ham United predictions

Nottingham Forest's first home match in the Premier League for over 23 years sees them host West Ham, with both teams looking to bounce back from opening-week defeats.

West Ham have lost six of their last eight league matches away from home, while Forest have won each of their previous two home fixtures in the top flight, although those wins both came in 1999 against Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester.

Chelsea vs. Tottenham Hotspur predictions

Chelsea and Tottenham both began the new season with victories, but while the Blues were unconvincing when edging past Everton, Spurs looked good as they thrashed Southampton 4-1.

The visitors will need to bring that scoring touch with them to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, as Chelsea have won the last five meetings between the two sides across all competitions without even conceding a goal.

Spurs have also only won once at Chelsea in the Premier League, that being a 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge in April 2018.

Liverpool vs. Crystal Palace predictions

Liverpool were far from their best as they drew 2-2 with Fulham on the opening weekend, while Crystal Palace were convincingly beaten by Arsenal.

Jurgen Klopp's men should bounce back in this one, as they are unbeaten in 23 league matches at Anfield, while they have won each of their last 10 meetings, home or away, with Palace.

Palace's last victory over Liverpool was at least at Anfield, as a Christian Benteke double helped them to a 2-1 win in April 2017.
