Tyson Fury will face Oleksandr Usyk in a battle to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world when the pair met on May 18.
Bookmaker Pinnacle have made Oleksandr Usyk the favourite to win his title fight with Tyson Fury at 1.87, but is he the fighter to back ahead of their mammoth fight?
In a fight being called the Ring of Fire, Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk has been made the slight favourite to triumph at 1.87 with bookmaker Pinnacle. The betting site have priced his opponent Tyson Fury at 1.97 to win the fight.
Clearly, the two are incredibly evenly-matched, with the betting seeing neither made overwhelming favourite. Despite the height advantage for Fury, who stands at six foot nine inches over Usyk, who is six foot three inches, the pair have been made very tight in the betting.
The fight itself will take place on May 18 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The bout will crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in the year 2000. Fury arrives as the WBC and Lineal champion, while Usyk carries the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO and The Ring titles.
The fight has already had three different dates. First, the fight was scheduled for December 23, 2023, only for the match to be postponed following Fury's win over Francis Ngannou on October 28.
The fight was again postponed on February 2, 2024, with Fury sustaining a cut in training, meaning the February 17 date would no longer work. Now, the fight will take place on May 18 at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia.
With the chance to unify the heavyweight titles, neither fighter will want to take a backwards step in the fight, and with Fury the youngest of the pair at 35, time is really against whoever is to lose this fight.
