Tuesday Night

Viktoria Plzen vs. Inter

Viktoria Plzen, unfortunately, drew Barcelona in the first round and were embarrassingly defeated 5-1 against the five-time Champions League title winners. Inter Milan lost 2-0 against Bayern Munich but did secure a 1-0 victory against Torino last week in their most recent Serie A match.

Sporting CP vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur swept past Marseille 2-0 in their opening Champions League match last week, thanks to a Richarlison double. The English side missed out on playing any football last weekend due to EPL matches being postponed. Sporting CP beat Portimonense 4-0 on Saturday and defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0 in the first Champions League round.

Liverpool vs. Ajax

Liverpool will look to turn their horrible start around following a 4-1 loss to Napoli. Meanwhile, Ajax thrashed Rangers 4-0 and destroyed Heerenveen 5-0 on Saturday in the Eredivisie. Like all other English clubs, Liverpool were unable to play over the weekend owing to the EPL postponement.

Bayern Munich vs. Barcelona

Bayern Munich posted a promising start to the Champions League with a 2-0 victory over Inter Milan but fought a tough 2-2 draw against VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga over the weekend.

As expected, Barcelona walked all over Viktoria Plzen last week and have looked fantastic recently with a 3-0 victory over Sevilla and a 4-0 blitz of Cadiz this month in La Liga.

Wednesday Night

Shakhtar Donetsk vs. Celtic

Shakhtar Donetsk got their Champions League campaign off to a flying start with a 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig. Celtic suffered a 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid who haven’t lost a match since a 1-0 loss to Barcelona on July 24, 2022.

Rangers vs. Napoli

Rangers were utterly decimated by Ajax last week and the Scottish Premiership was also postponed this week, leaving Rangers unable to pick up any positive form ahead of this match. Napoli sent out a massive statement by comfortably beating Liverpool 4-1 in the opening round.

Chelsea vs. RB Salzburg

Chelsea started poorly with a 1-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb and manager Thomas Tuchel was promptly let go. New Manager Graham Potter will look to restart the Blues’ season with a win over RB Salzburg. The Austrian team were the other party in the only draw of the opening Champions League round with a 1-1 result against Milan.

Real Madrid vs. RB Leipzig

Real Madrid are enjoying a stellar start to the season, topping the table in La Liga and beating Celtic 3-0 in the opening Champions League round. RB Leipzig have been hit-and-miss this season; they earned an 8-0 victory in the opening round of the DFB-Pokal last month, but lost 4-1 to Shakhtar Donetsk last week in the Champions League.

Juventus vs. Benfica

Benfica notched up a clean 2-0 victory over Maccabi Haifa in their opening Champions League match and are still first in the Primeira Liga after a 1-0 win over Famalicao on Saturday. Juventus lost 2-1 to a tremendously strong PSG in the first round of the Champions League and drew with Salernitana last week in a game that featured controversial VAR decisions and several red cards.

Maccabi Haifa vs. PSG

Maccabi Haifa lost 2-0 to Benfica but bounced back over the weekend with a 3-1 victory over Sektzia Nes Tziona. PSG looked lethal in their 2-1 victory over Juventus in their opening Champions League match and have maintained the top stop in Ligue 1 with a 1-0 victory over Brest on Saturday.

Manchester City vs. Dortmund

Both teams kicked off their Champions League champions well with Manchester City defeating Sevilla 4-0 and Dortmund overcoming Copenhagen 3-0. Dortmund lost 3-0 to Champions League contenders RB Leipzig in Bundesliga this Saturday, while Manchester City were unable to play any football owing to the EPL postponement.
