La Liga Predictions For Matchday 23

Real Madrid are still battling to catch Barcelona at the top of the table, with the gap now stretched to an imposing eight points. Their loss to Mallorca a few weeks ago has been followed by two wins in a row, but is it too little too late? There are still 16 matches to come in Spain's top league, but if Barca continue on this run, they will win the title well before the last weekend. 

With this in mind, Real Madrid know they need to win games at home as they try to bridge this gap. 

Atletico Madrid arrive on an impressive run of form that has seen them unbeaten in their last six matches in a row in the league. 12 wins in 22 attempts is a decent record, but they are already 18 points short of Barca at the top, with Atleti once again coming up short in the title race. With home advantage, Real are the side to back in this one against their arch rivals. 

Cadiz come into this one on the back of a tough run so far this season. With just five wins in 22 attempts, Cadiz are in real danger of losing their place in Spain's top league this year. They have not been good enough going forward with just 17 goals scored all season, although they do boast a some decent form at home, meaning they should not be seen as a complete walkover. 

Rayo Vallecano are continuing their impressive run in La Liga, with the side sitting in sixth in the league with 34 points from 22 games. Rayo currently sit in the only Europa Conference League qualifier spot and will desperately want to extend a four match unbeaten run they they are currently enjoying. 

Almeria currently sit in 17th in the league, spared the relegation zone by virtue of their superior goal difference to Cadiz. An awful run of three defeats in their last three games means they are in no kind of form right now, and the home side could take a mauling on the pitch. 

Barcelona have been brilliant this season and look destined to win La Liga. With there are still 16 games to be played, they have only dropped points on three occasions, drawing twice and losing once. If they continue in this sort of form, then Real Madrid will be looking at second as the height of their ambition.
