Real Madrid vs. Osasuna predictions

Real Madrid’s 100% season record continued on Sunday night with a hard-fought victory over Atletico Madrid in a lively derby contest. Goals from Rodrygo and Federico Valverde in the first half ultimately proved to be enough for Carlo Ancelotti’s side who are looking very good for consecutive titles.

Los Blancos have not looked defensively watertight, failing to keep a clean sheet in any of their six matches so far. But going forward, they are still proving to be a real threat and even without Karim Benzema, they have had enough to win their first six matches of the season for the first time since 1987.

Osasuna are their next opponents and they have also enjoyed a good start to the season, winning four and losing two. They were beaten on Sunday at home by Getafe and have an awful record against Real Madrid, not winning against them since January 2011.

Mallorca vs. Barcelona predictions

On Saturday, Barcelona made it five wins in a row since their opening day draw with an easy 3-0 victory against struggling Elche. Robert Lewandowski added another two goals to his already impressive tally and now they are just two points behind Real Madrid at the top of the table.

Barcelona made several signings during the summer and they have mainly integrated well, with the Xavi renaissance continuing. Unlike last season, they are in with a serious chance of winning the title. They have looked irresistible going forward with 18 goals scored, while they’ve been impressive at the back, with just one goal conceded.

That record might be maintained against a Mallorca side who have only scored six goals in six games despite sitting 10th in the table. Barcelona have also won each of the last nine meetings between the two teams, dating back to October 2010.

Sevilla vs. Atletico Madrid predictions

Ordinarily, this would be a battle between two sides expecting to challenge for the top four at least, but Sevilla have endured a very poor start to the season, only winning one of their six games.

Julen Lopetegui’s side collected only one point from their first four games which was very different from last season, when they proved to be a hard team to beat. A 3-2 win at Espanyol came last week to finally give their season some lift-off and then on Sunday they were able to take a point away from their game against Villarreal.

Sevilla’s recent record against Atletico Madrid is something they can take heart from, particularly at home. They are unbeaten in the last four meetings at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Atletico Madrid do have a curiously poor record against Sevilla, winning only one of the last eight in all competitions, failing to win away since February 2018.
