Premier League Predictions For Matchday 24

Aston Villa have struggled of late, with two defeats in their last two seeing their four match unbeaten run come to a grinding halt. Despite their struggle, they will feel that they have every chance of getting something out of this match. Playing at home, they need to ensure they are winning more often, and they will relish the chance to hand Arsenal another loss. 

Arsenal's title campaign is under huge pressure at the moment after losing their last two away games. A 3-1 loss to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in their last game means they sit in second on goal difference, and Arsenal know they need to win this one with City now right on top of them. 

Chelsea have struggled recently, with the side meandering across all competitions. A 1-1 draw with West Ham in the league was followed by a toothless display in a 1-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League in the week. Clearly, things are not going well for the Blues right now. 

Southampton arrive at Stamford Bridge propping up the Premier League table after an awful start to the season. With Chelsea only winning three of their last 14 matches in all competitions, the Saints know they have a chance in this one, although their own record of five defeats in their last six in all competitions is hardly better than their hosts. 

Nottingham Forest have been very good at home this season, and they have actually managed to pick up 18 of their 24 points this season when playing in front of their own fans. However, they face a massive test now as they take on a Manchester City side that are chomping at the bit right now. 

City were able to defeat Arsenal in a top of the table clash that ended 3-1 at the Emirates. This triumph means City have finally risen to the top of the table. While they only lead on goal difference and have played one more game than the Gunners, City will not want to let up, and they will feel the title is there for the taking now. 

Newcastle can really underline their credentials as a top-four side this weekend by defeating Liverpool at St James' Park. The Magpies currently sit in fourth in the table with 41 points from 22 games, meaning a Champions League spot for next season is in their hands. 

Liverpool arrive currently sitting in ninth in the league after a torrid start to their campaign. Just nine wins in 21 attempts has helped them onto 32 points, meaning they trail their next opponents and the final Champions League spot by nine points. A win here is crucial if the Reds are the catch Newcastle, but Liverpool have been awful on the road. 

Manchester United are still looking to profit from the profligacy of both Arsenal and Manchester City above them, with United just five points off the top of the table. A win over Leicester would extend their 16-game unbeaten record at home while also keeping the home side in the running for the title. 

Leicester have been better of late in the lead, winning their last two and remaining unbeaten in their last three games. The 24 points they have picked up means they are six clear of Everton in 18th, and they desperately need to keep picking up points if they are to stay away from danger. 

Tottenham currently sit just two points behind Newcastle and the final Champions League spot after what has been a strong start to the season. Spurs have won 12 of their opening 23 matches, but they need to bounce back from a disappointing 4-1 loss to Leicester in their last match that saw them miss the chance to move into the top-four. 

West Ham are still in real trouble in the league despite not being beaten in their last three league games. Without a win at Tottenham since 2019, the Hammers will have to be at their very best to halt Harry Kane and co.
